Spicemas 2009: Annual Lions Ole Mas Competition
The annual Lions Ole Mas Competition takes place this Sunday, July 19th, at the Grenada Trade Center. Known for its outrageous and hilarious portrayals the Ole Mas Competition has certainly become a major highlight in the buildup to carnival.
The show this Saturday starts at 4 pm and tickets are $20 (adults) and $10 (kids under 12). Tickets are available at Nikkis Shoe Shop, Kool Systems in the Bruce Street Mall and members of the Lion’s Club.
This year’s Lion’s Ole Mas competition will feature a plethora of carnival entertainment in addition to the expected portrayals.
There will be special appearances by Fatman George, Soca Bantan, Sheldon Douglas, Sour Serpent, Heritage Theater, the Vincennes Sports and Cultural Club, the St. Paul’s Cultural Development Organization, Coyaba New Dimensions and DJ Blackstorm.
The show will also include a “Male Queen show” – with evening and casual wear.
